INTRODUCTION

In 2021, I picked up my life and moved across the

country to Los Angeles. With California being known

for its unmatched beauty, I was looking forward to seeing it through my own perspective. I found myself capturing every moment I could, leaving me with an insane amount of photos at my disposal. Of course, there were endless opportunities to share these moments on social media. But, I was actively searching for a way to exercise my creative energy through all of these new experiences. Aaaaand…Voila! Lindsay In LA was born. This passion project gives a glimpse into my adventures in LA while expressing my love for motion design. WHY

My search for a creative outlet and an eagerness to prove myself in a new role were the catalysts of this project. With that, I was able to take several individual experiences and create a cohesive product that’s sum was greater than its parts! Throughout this process, I gave myself creative freedom and the ability to have fun. I had the rare opportunity to create something for myself. As a result, I found a renewed sense of passion for motion design while still expanding and honing my capabilities professionally. PROCESS

I had the unique opportunity to have complete control over all facets of this project (i.e., assets, goals, design direction, workflow, etc.) Below is a breakdown of my creative process for Lindsay In LA. I started by outlining the project and identifying project goals. Next, I organized favorite images into categories based on location. For each location group, general ideas were sketched out and animations were storyboarded. Once I had done this for each location, I looked for connections between scenes and brainstormed transitions.
